How it works

Adapalene stops the formation of blackheads or whiteheads by reducing the growth of surface skin cells that block the pores. It also increases cell turnover, which also helps to prevent pore blockage.

Using Differin Cream/Gel

Apply a thin layer of adalapene to the skin after cleansing thoroughly. Use Differin once daily (preferably at night time) unless you have been otherwise advised by your doctor.

Further information

This is a good treatment for mild to moderate acne. If you suffer from severe acne then please speak to your GP about a referral to a dermatologist. Severe acne needs to be treated quickly and effectively in order to prevent scarring.

You may experience slight tingling when first using this medication and your skin may look red. This should subside over time. Should any symptoms not improve or should you experience any severe redness, swelling, itching, burning or blistering you should stop using the medicine temporarily and seek advice from your doctor.

Differin increases your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight and other forms of UV light. Avoid exposure to UV rays whilst using this medication.
